Much like the recent storm tore through the northern region the night before, Manchester City overwhelmed United aside at the Etihad. It was a statement three-nil victory for the City coach's side due to goals from Knaak, Bunny Shaw and Lauren Hemp. It was a performance that clearly signaled their title credentials as they reinforced their standing at the WSL pinnacle.

Consecutive Defeats for United

This result signalled back-to-back WSL setbacks for Marc Skinner’s side for the maiden instance since May 2024, placing them seven points off the league leaders with their championship aspirations in serious doubt.
