Jurgen Klopp says rejoining to coach Liverpool is theoretically possible.

Jurgen Klopp, who stepped down from Anfield in 2024, remarked that a future comeback is an option. Klopp, post a game-changing nine-year spell that included continental glory and the Premier League crown since 1990, currently occupies roles overseeing worldwide football for Red Bull and in an advisory capacity for the DFL.

Supporters’ Hopes and Klopp’s Candid Remarks

The club claimed England's top flight last season, but many fans holding him in high esteem would be thrilled by the notion that he may eventually return. Speaking candidly, he shared with Steven Bartlett: “I stated I won't manage any other side on English soil. Therefore in case it's my former club...yes. In theory, it could happen.”

“At 58 years old, that means I could make the decision in a few years, I don’t know. Is a decision required immediately? Then I will not coach again. Luckily, it's not necessary. I'll simply watch how things unfold.”

Conditions for a Comeback

When asked about which situations would have to unfold to draw him back to the dugout, he revealed he feels no immediate pull for a comeback. “I don’t even know exactly, I love what I do right now,” he stated. “I don’t miss coaching; I don’t miss standing during downpours for lengthy sessions; No need for media briefings four times, three times a week or having 10-12 interviews a week.

“I don’t miss the dressing room as a dressing room, but sitting in a restaurant with the team talking freely, I appreciate that. We won a lot of games so there was often positive atmosphere at the club. Remaining with me is the captain's chuckle in my ear to illustrate.”

Commending Arne Slot

He spoke highly for his successor, praising him for the tweaks that won the league last campaign. Liverpool have lost four in a row in all competitions following significant transfers, yet he dismissed the notion that it might signal the start of a downward turn.

“[Liverpool have] an incredible striker like Florian Wirtz, critics will regret if spoken against. He’s an incredible talent. The French striker, superb talent. They have a strong well-judged squad. No need for concern about Liverpool, things will improve.”

Heartfelt Words for the Late Forward

The manager expressed deep feeling regarding the passing of Jota, a 2020 acquisition while in charge, and the effect at the club. The forward was killed in a vehicle collision alongside his brother this past summer.

“Can you substitute somebody like Diogo? It’s not about the player himself, it's his character. It's hard to picture the team environment absent his presence. I still cannot speak properly about it. It was an incredible shock for the entire squad too. Nobody at Liverpool will ever use it for poor performances yet it's the reality. Entering the changing area which he filled completely. Coping with it emotionally is difficult. Overwhelming.”
