Iranian Forces State Strike on US Base in Bahrain, As Part of Regional Counterattacks.
Iranian forces say they have struck a US naval base in Bahrain, as Iran launched missile attacks across the region in retaliation for a large-scale and continuing assault targeting the nation by the US and Israel.
Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an area in the area of the main base of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The full scale of any impact is uncertain and the American officials has remained silent.
Missile Defenses Activated
Elsewhere across the region, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar and Kuwait - all home to American military installations - reported they have engaged and destroyed missiles in their air space.
In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence stated it had successfully engaged a number of projectiles apparently targeting the al-Udeid air base, the biggest US military installation in the Middle East.
Operation "Truthful Promise 4"
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard said in a statement it was targeting American facilities and interests as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the strikes on Iran initiated by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday.
That preceding assault - executed at around 06:15 GMT - has so far targeted sites associated with the the regime, with President Trump encouraging the Iranian people to rise up against the government.

In Israel, sirens were heard nationwide after the Israeli military said it had detected an barrage of missiles from Iran.
The Ministry of Defence of the UAE said in a statement that the nation has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"Emirati air defenses dealt with the missiles with great effectiveness and destroyed a series of missiles," it added.
It said wreckage fell on a populated district in the capital, resulting in some structural damage and killing a civilian.
The US Air Force is stationed at Al Dhafra Air Base, south of Abu Dhabi, along with the UAE Air Force.
