Intensive Moscow's Attacks Cut Electricity Throughout Kyiv

Energy infrastructure under attack in Ukraine
The country's power facilities have faced increased strikes in the past few days

Throughout the evening, Russian aerial assaults have caused electricity outages in multiple districts of the capital city, Kyiv.

Nine people were hurt while inhabitants in the city's east were left without electricity and faced disruption to water systems, per reports from local authorities.

Simultaneously, a young boy was killed in a different assault in the southeastern region in the southern area, according to area administrators.

Russian forces has escalated strikes on power infrastructure over the last fortnight, while Ukrainian leadership has demanded "substantial measures" from partner nations to increase pressure on Moscow.

"The necessity is not symbolic gestures but firm measures - from the United States, European nations and the Group of Seven - in delivering defensive weapons and implementing sanctions," mentioned in a public message.

Authorities reported that 450 drones and several dozen missiles attacked the country's power systems, describing such assaults as "cynical and calculated" and against "critical infrastructure" as temperatures become colder.

Government representatives said Russia was "inflicting a massive strike" and maintenance teams were working to fix the damage.

A series of attacks hit energy infrastructure and residential structures in the capital.

Five out of the nine people wounded in the strikes on the capital have been hospitalized, according to municipal representatives.

Regional authorities said the urban area came under intense attacks during nighttime hours. A minor was killed and multiple civilians were injured.

The attacks follow evenings of bombing campaigns in the area, sections of which are currently controlled by Russian forces.

The entire country is on alert for advanced weapon attacks, which are more difficult to detect.

Authorities told journalists that Russia was deliberately attempting to demolish the electrical infrastructure, with strikes already affecting energy systems.

Officials stated utility staff and government agencies were anticipating further attacks.
