Football Analyst Chris Sutton Faces Off Against Artist Murs in Premier League Forecasts

The Gunners' 10-game winning streak came to an end by Sunderland prior to the global hiatus, but can the English top division leaders bounce back against local foes Tottenham this Sunday?

"{I feel like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a plan for this game," stated football expert Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will try to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating finest this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's side usually still find a way to win."

The analyst is making predictions for all 380 Premier League fixtures this term, versus artificial intelligence, fans and a range of guests.

In week 12, he takes on singer Olly Murs, who is a United fan.

The singer's new album, Knees Up, is out on Friday.

Football and Family Experiences

Olly is a skilled soccer player as well as a accomplished singer and has been a featured player of multiple Soccer Aid matches over time - but he is not intending a professional return as a footballer.

"{I recently played in a benefit match the other evening for a mate of mine," he said. "The side was trailing 3-1 when I came off in the second half, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you will!

"I continue to love football, but I hurt my joint a few years ago and it still isn't where I want it to be. I wish I could play more but the unpredictability of the sport means it's too dangerous for me in my profession to do it properly again.

"Plus I am forty-one now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am preparing for the moment that my daughter or son chooses to play instead."

The singer and his spouse Amelia Tank have two children, their daughter and Albert, and he is prepared to emulate his dad by becoming their coach.

"I won't push football on our kids but I've already told Amelia that if they happen to get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will likely be coaching their Saturday football team," he said.

"I observed my nephews play a lot, and I really got into it, and I clearly was involved with a football club for a period too.

"My dad coached with us when I was a child, which is probably where I inherited it. He managed our side for two or three seasons and had great fun with it. That could be the future for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Premier League Predictions

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues may have to be patient for their star's comeback from injury but their offense is already stronger with Joao Pedro and Delap both back fit.

In my opinion this fixture will be quite tight, however. The Clarets are disciplined and their only home defeats so far have been against Liverpool and the Gunners.

It suggests a 1-1 draw to me, but I am in fact going to go with the London side to win narrowly for what would be their third consecutive league win in a row.

The expert's forecast: 1-2

Olly's prediction: Chelsea will be too strong. 1-3

AI's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have lost their past two matches - although both of them were on the road - but they got absolutely spanked by Villa last time out which surprised me.

On the other hand, the Hammers secured back-to-back victories before the hiatus and, although both of those games were at home, they do look competitive again.

West Ham's sole away victory this campaign came at Nottingham Forest in August, when West Ham manager Nuno Espirito Santo was previously that team's coach.

Therefore, what exactly do I go with here - can West Ham continuing their streak under Nuno, or Bournemouth responding?

I am going to choose the Cherries, because I think what happened against Aston Villa was a anomaly.

The pundit's forecast: 2-0

The guest's outlook: Bournemouth are performing strongly but the visitors have improved under Nuno. 2-2

The algorithm's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were seen as one of the favourites for the drop before the campaign began, but they have surprised a few observers under Keith Andrews and are in good form with three wins in their last four matches.

My son advised me to select Brentford striker Igor Thiago in my fantasy soccer squad a few weeks ago and, guess what, I didn't listen.

The forward will likely score again on Saturday but I am nonetheless not going to select him or back Brentford at Amex Stadium.

The Bees have not had great fortune on the travel this season, and the Seagulls are consistently strong at home. The visitors will try to hit them on the counter-attack but I feel Fabian Hurzeler's team carry much more of a danger.

The analyst's prediction: 2-1

Olly's view: This could be one of those games where you think there is going to be a many goals but it actually turns out to be quite tight. 1-1

AI's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a huge fixture for the Cottagers, who have suffered defeat in five of their last six matches.

They have got plenty of quality in their squad but it nonetheless feels like they could be sucked into a relegation fight.

Regarding Sunderland, indeed they are the surprise package of the Premier League campaign so far.

Their display in the 2-2 tie with the Gunners last time out was excellent. We've not seen anyone else rough up the North London side like that this season, and they were more than a match for them.

The sensible thing to do to support the visitors here, because they are clearly capable of roughing the hosts up too and, the last time they were in west London, they defeated Chelsea at the end of October.

But I am not choose that. Rather, I really need to carry on going against Sunderland with my predictions. I am taking a lot of credit for their positive results because they clearly enjoy to prove me wrong.

Looking at the home side's at Craven Cottage record, the sole team they have lost to is the league leaders. Their manager's team will be extremely eager for a good result, so I am going to predict they will secure three points.

Sutton's prediction: 1-0

Olly's choice: I'm aware Sunderland are doing well and also that the hosts are on a bad run... but Fulham have nonetheless been respectable at home this campaign. 2-0

AI's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a hard one to call. The Reds have suffered seven of their last ten games in every tournament, but could they be among the teams who profit from the {international break|
