Close to 25,000 Experiencing Electricity in South-East Queensland and Victoria Following Intense Storms
Around 25,000 households in Queensland's southeast found themselves lacking electricity on Monday's dawn after powerful weather events passed over the state, bringing strong winds reaching over 100 km/h.
Substantial Hailstones and Widespread Destruction
Residents observed substantial frozen pellets measuring up to 7cm in particular locations. Meteorological experts confirmed that multiple regions across the state had been hit with significant hail.

Response teams were focused on reestablishing power throughout the damaged zones, with dozens of response units working to handle the extensive power failures.
Victoria's Weather Woes
At the same time, around one thousand residents in Victoria also experienced power outages after the capital city experienced its most precipitation in 18 months.
State Emergency Services received 598 emergency reports across the region, primarily for structural issues but also for fallen timber and flooding.

During the peak on yesterday, more than 28,000 energy customers in Victoria were experiencing outages.
Weather Forecast
Moist weather were predicted to continue along significant areas of the state's eastern regions this next several days as a low-pressure trough continued to pull in damp air against the coastal areas.
The following day was forecast to be the heaviest precipitation period, with persistent severe weather risk predicted across different parts of both states.
Health Warning
Public health experts alerted that there was an greater possibility of epidemic thunderstorm asthma across the state's northern country region, especially given the current weather patterns.
This warning comes after previous incidents where analogous circumstances led to major medical consequences in the area.
